Breaking News: Oklahoma Quarterback, 22, Commits to Transfer…

General Booty Enlists with ULM: Former Oklahoma Quarterback Transfers to Louisiana-Monroe

The former Oklahoma quarterback, General Booty, has officially announced his transfer to Louisiana-Monroe via Twitter.

During his time at Oklahoma, Booty made two appearances over two seasons. He notably took the field during TCU’s victory over the Sooners in 2022 and also saw action in Oklahoma’s dominant win over Arkansas State in the 2023 season opener.

Before joining Oklahoma, Booty showcased his talent at the junior college level, where he excelled at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, TX. He led the NJCAA in passing yards (3,410) and touchdowns (27) during his one-year stint there, though he has yet to replicate those numbers at the FBS level.

Booty, a former three-star recruit from Allen High School in Texas, joins ULM as their newest quarterback. Interestingly, ULM was the second FBS school to offer Booty a scholarship, following Liberty University.

Returning to his roots in Louisiana, Booty joins the Warhawks under new coaching leadership led by former UAB offensive coordinator and interim head coach Bryant Vincent. Notably, Booty’s father, Josh Booty, a former Cleveland Browns quarterback, has ties to Louisiana, having grown up in Shreveport and played college football at LSU.

With Booty’s arrival, ULM now boasts six quarterbacks on their roster, including Hunter Herring, who led the team in a comeback victory over Army last season. Despite Herring’s experience and familiarity with the playbook, Booty is expected to compete for the starting quarterback position during fall camp under Vincent and his coaching staff.
