Dominique Rhymes makes a comeback to his roots, aiming to elevate the Redblacks’ offensive performance.

In 2019, Dominique Rhymes hinted at his potential greatness during his final season as a receiver for the Ottawa Redblacks. Despite the challenges posed by the team’s quarterbacks, who collectively struggled with interceptions, Rhymes managed to impress with 65 receptions for 1,056 yards.

Fast forward to 2022, his second season with the B.C. Lions, Rhymes soared as the CFL’s second-best receiver, partnering with Canadian quarterback Nathan Rourke. His remarkable stats of 85 catches for 1,401 yards and 11 touchdowns placed him prominently among the league’s elite, trailing only Dalton Schoen of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in certain categories.

Now, at 30 years old, Rhymes has returned to the Redblacks, poised to be a central figure in the team’s roster. Despite the team’s recent struggles, Rhymes sees Ottawa as his home and is excited to contribute to their resurgence. He attributes his decision to return to the strong bonds he shares with the city, the familiarity with his teammates, and his admiration for Coach Bob Dyce, who played a pivotal role in his early career.

Rhymes expresses a sense of fulfillment being back in Ottawa, reminiscent of his early days striving to make the team. With a renewed hunger and determination, he aims to deliver his best performance yet.

Moore, who witnessed Rhymes’ development since his rookie year, highlights his exceptional attributes, including his size, speed, route running, and deep understanding of the game. Rhymes’ relentless work ethic and ability to inspire his teammates set him apart as a formidable force on the field.
