France’s Homer, Woo’s Debut Win Propel Seattle Mariners to 4-2 Triumph Over Kansas City Royals

Ty France smashed his second homer in three games, while Bryan Woo showcased his pitching prowess, conceding only one run across 5 1/3 innings to clinch his maiden victory. The Seattle Mariners clinched a 4-2 win against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday.

With this win, the Mariners secured two out of three games against the Royals. Their recent performance has been impressive, boasting victory in eight of their last nine series. As they head for a crucial 10-game road trip on the East Coast, the Mariners maintain a four-game lead above .500 and lead the AL West.

France’s fourth-inning blast off Kansas City’s Alec Marsh propelled Seattle to a 2-0 advantage. This followed his home run in Monday’s series opener.

Seattle capitalized on an unearned run in the second inning, courtesy of Adam Frazier’s fielding error. They later added two pivotal runs, with Josh Rojas driving in a run with a seventh-inning single, and Luke Raley contributing an RBI single in the eighth.

Manager Scott Servais commended the team’s relentless effort and clutch hitting. While Woo’s stellar performance contributed significantly, Andrés Muñoz sealed the win, securing his seventh save of the season with five crucial outs. Despite navigating through an error in the ninth inning, Muñoz notched his second five-out save of the season.
