In their latest race on May 4, K-State triumphed over Kansas in the Sunflower Showdown in Kansas City, winning the 1v4+ and 3v8+ races. They also had close contests in the 1v8+ and 2v8+.

Before that, they competed in the SIRA Championship on April 20-21 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, earning gold for the 1v4+ and silver for the 1v8+ and 3v8+ teams.

The season opened at the Hornet Invitational, where K-State secured seven first-place finishes across all boats.

“It’s been a year of learning and growth,” Sweeney said. “Our team is dedicated and hardworking. We’re proud of our progress and look forward to racing hard and finishing the season on a high note this weekend.”
