LSU men’s basketball head coach Matt McMahon declared on Thursday that the university has officially received the signed paperwork from 7-foot center Noah Boyde to join the Tigers for the 2024-25 season.
Boyde, who hails from Monchy in St. Lucia, has spent the past two seasons showcasing his talents at McCook Community College in McCook, Nebraska.
“We’re thrilled to have Noah Boyde coming to Baton Rouge, Louisiana,” Coach McMahon expressed. “His basketball journey has been remarkable, and we’re eager to see it continue at LSU. We admire his skill set and agility, especially given his size. He’s deeply committed to improving and evolving as a player. Noah will undoubtedly bolster our frontcourt, and I can’t wait to coach him at LSU.”
During his tenure at McCook, Boyde maintained averages of 11.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, boasting a shooting accuracy of 56.2%. He notched 23 games with double-digit points and 14 games with double-digit rebounds. In the 2022-23 season, Boyde led all Region IX South players in rebounds.

Despite facing injury setbacks in the 2023-24 season, Boyde still managed to put up impressive numbers, averaging 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and shooting 53.3% from the field.
Before the 2023-24 season, the 245-pound Boyde earned recognition by making the FAB 50 list of junior college freshmen by JucoRecruiting.com and participated in the JUCO Advocate showcase in Houston, catching the attention of numerous coaches and recruiting services.
Boyde joins other transfers who have signed via the portal, including Dji Bailey from Richmond, Cam Carter from Kansas State, and Jordan Sears from UT Martin.
The Tigers have also secured commitments from high school prospects Robert Miller of Pasadena (Texas) Memorial High School, Curtis Givens III of Montverde (Florida) Academy, and Vyctorius Miller of Arizona Compass Prep. Presently, all three players are ranked in the top 65 in the On3.com basketball player rankings for the 2024 class. LSU currently holds the No. 13 team ranking in the 247sports basketball recruiting rankings.
It’s worth noting that Noah’s last name is spelled “Boyde,” which is the accurate spelling of his family name, despite appearing differently in other sources.
