Trimble, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound wide receiver from Mt. Zion High School in Illinois, is rated as a three-star recruit. He is ranked as the No. 609 player in the class of 2025, the No. 95 wide receiver in the country, and the No. 17 player in Illinois.
Trimble had a wide range of scholarship offers from programs such as Auburn, Iowa, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, among others.
Coach Bret Bielema is aiming to transform Illinois football into a dynamic offensive force. Traditionally, Illinois football is known for tough linebackers, strong defensive lines, and shutdown cornerbacks, but Bielema is reshaping perceptions.
The 2024 squad is expected to have a solid offense, with Luke Altmyer returning at quarterback, talented wide receivers, and a productive running back in Kaden Feagin.
Looking ahead, Bielema is also building for the future. Several standout players from the 2024 class are on offense, including highly regarded wide receiver Carlos Orr and promising running back Ca’Lil Valentine, a four-star recruit.
The 2025 class is heavily focused on offensive players, with six commitments so far, including quarterback Carson Boyd, two talented offensive linemen, and now Brayden Trimble, who adds a valuable big target for Boyd.
Illinois football appears to have a promising future under Bielema’s leadership, with strong recruiting classes and strategic use of the transfer portal shaping the program’s direction positively.
