Top Pitt Panthers Players Miss NFL Rookie Minicamp Opportunities This Weekend
**PITTSBURGH –** Several Pitt Panthers players did not get drafted or sign as undrafted free agents (UDFA), but they still have the opportunity to impress NFL teams in the future.
Rookie minicamps are starting soon, with a few held this past weekend and the majority occurring this upcoming weekend.
The Indianapolis Colts showed the most interest in Pitt players during draft weekend.
They traded up to select offensive tackle Matt Goncalves in the third round, making him the first Panther drafted that weekend.
The Colts also signed former Pitt quarterback Kedon Slovis as a UDFA and invited both offensive lineman Jake Kradel and tight end Malcolm Epps to their rookie minicamp from May 10-12.
Slovis had a challenging season with the Panthers in 2022, completing 184-of-315 passes (58.4%) for 2,397 yards, 10 touchdowns, and nine interceptions over 11 games, finishing with a 7-4 record.
He struggled particularly in losses against Louisville and North Carolina, where he threw poor interceptions and had mobility issues, which affected the overall offense.
Kradel played six seasons with the Panthers from 2018-2023, appearing in 52 games and starting 46 at both center and right guard.
Epps also had a six-year college career, playing 59 games with 12 starts, and caught 46 passes for 598 yards and seven touchdowns. He played at Texas for three seasons, USC for two, and Pitt for his final season, where he made nine catches for 115 yards in 2023.
Cornerback Marquis Williams was invited to the Pittsburgh Steelers rookie minicamp. Williams played for Pitt from 2018-2023, making 60 appearances and starting 46 games, with 109 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, six interceptions, 17 passes defended, and one forced fumble.
Running back C’Bo Flemister joined the Baltimore Ravens for their rookie minicamp this past weekend. Flemister played 49 games over six seasons, the first four with Notre Dame and the last two with Pitt, rushing 138 times for 558 yards and four touchdowns.
AJ Woods signed as a UDFA with the Washington Commanders, giving him a solid chance to play next season. Woods played five seasons with Pitt from 2019-2023, with 59 games and 14 starts, accumulating 102 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, four interceptions, 25 passes defended, and one forced fumble.
Former Pitt defensive end John Morgan signed as a UDFA with the New England Patriots. Morgan played five seasons with Pitt from 2018-2022, with 53 games and eight starts, recording 73 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, and three forced fumbles. He spent last season with Arkansas, making 15 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks.
