Duggan: Eagles Fighting Hard to Retain Yeo Amid Crows Interest

Waalitj Marawar (West Coast) captain Liam Duggan has made it clear that the Eagles are fiercely determined to retain star player Elliot Yeo, despite significant interest from the Adelaide Crows.

With Yeo’s contract negotiations becoming a hot topic, Duggan emphasized the importance of Yeo to the team, both on and off the field. “Elliot is not just a crucial player for us, but also a key part of our club’s spirit and culture,” Duggan stated. “We are doing everything in our power to ensure he remains an Eagle.”

The Adelaide Crows have been eyeing Yeo, considering him a potential asset to bolster their midfield. However, Duggan and the Eagles are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to persuade Yeo to stay. “We understand the allure of other offers, but we believe in the vision we have here at West Coast. Elliot is integral to that vision,” Duggan added.

Yeo, a dual All-Australian and club Best and Fairest winner, has been with the Eagles since 2014 and has become a fan favorite due to his resilience and skill. His presence has been pivotal in many of the team’s successes, including their 2018 Premiership victory.

Duggan highlighted the camaraderie and strong bonds within the team as key factors that could influence Yeo’s decision. “The brotherhood we share here is something special. Elliot knows how much we value him, and we’re hopeful that the relationships and our shared goals will weigh in our favor,” he said.

The club’s management is reportedly working on a competitive offer that not only matches Yeo’s market value but also emphasizes his future role in the club’s strategic plans. “We’re confident that what we’re building here is compelling,” Duggan remarked. “Elliot’s leadership and experience are vital as we aim for future premierships.”

As the negotiations continue, Eagles fans are eagerly awaiting Yeo’s decision, hoping that their beloved star will choose to remain in blue and gold. Duggan’s public affirmation of the club’s dedication to retaining Yeo underscores the high stakes of this player movement period.

“Elliot’s commitment to our team over the years has been unwavering, and we’re committed to reciprocating that loyalty. We believe in our future together,” Duggan concluded.
