Wests Tigers to acquire Super League players as John Bateman’s departure approaches.

SUPER LEAGUE: Wests Tigers to Sign Super League Players as John Bateman Nears Exit

The Wests Tigers, known for their struggles in the NRL, finished at the bottom in 2022 and 2023 and are currently 15th with just two wins from their first 10 games. They are reportedly planning to recruit top talent from the Super League.

In an effort to turn the team’s fortunes around, the Tigers brought in former New Zealand star Benji Marshall as head coach and appointed Shane Richardson as Chief Executive. Richardson is now taking significant steps to rebuild the struggling squad.

According to Next in Australia, Richardson traveled to the UK with the goal of offloading underperforming players and recruiting top Super League talent. Yahoo Sport Australia reports that Richardson is seeking to identify Super League stars to enhance the Tigers’ performance.

Australian pundit Andrew Voss confirmed on SEN radio, “Shane Richardson, we’re told, is over in the UK, looking to recruit from there.”
