Breaking News: Seasoned trio makes a comeback for the first time…

In a boost to the club’s defensive and forward units, James Sicily, Jack Scrimshaw, and Jack Gunston are all returning to the side.

Sicily has recovered from the shoulder injury he sustained two rounds ago, while Scrimshaw is back from his one-game suspension.

Gunston will play his 249th game after being managed for the club’s loss to Yartapuulti at Adelaide Oval.

As mentioned in Thursday’s squad release, forward Nick Watson has been managed, Jai Serong has been omitted, and defender Ethan Phillips is also out.

Hawthorn’s Executive General Manager of Football, Rob McCartney, welcomed the additions of Sicily, Scrimshaw, and Gunston for Sunday’s game.

“The return of Sicily, Scrimshaw, and Gunston adds experience to a group that has performed more consistently over the past few weeks,” McCartney said.

“As we’ve seen earlier in the season, Sicily and Scrimshaw have the ability to defend first and then create counter-attacks, while Gunston’s talent and leadership enhance our forward synergy and potency.”
