Bombers Heartbroken: Hobbs Out, Star Endures Another Absence

Will Setterfield might return from injury this weekend.

The midfielder’s comeback from a knee injury has been delayed by minor setbacks, but he is expected to play his first game since round five if he gets through training without issues.

After being a late scratch for Dreamtime at the ‘G, Ben Hobbs is now set to miss the next 2-3 weeks with a calf strain. Hobbs experienced soreness following the previous week’s game against North Melbourne, and further investigation last week revealed a minor strain.

Injury update: Cox cleared of strain.
Ruckman Sam Draper is progressing in his rehab from knee surgery two weeks ago, targeting a return in four-to-five weeks.

Dylan Shiel missed the VFL clash with Richmond on Saturday due to illness but is expected to be available this week.

Darcy Parish will begin running on his injured calf this week, and along with Xavier Duursma and Kaine Baldwin, aims to return soon after the mid-season bye.

Essendon round 12 injury list:
– **Will Setterfield:** Knee (Test)
– **Ben Hobbs:** Calf (2-3 weeks)
– **Xavier Duursma:** Quad (3-4 weeks)
– **Kaine Baldwin:** Navicular stress (3-4 weeks)
– **Darcy Parish:** Calf (3-4 weeks)
