According to the official UofL release, Anselem-Ibe, a native of Lagos, Nigeria, spent the last two seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs. In the 2023-24 season, he played in 29 games, averaging 9.1 minutes, 2.6 points, and 2.1 rebounds per game. In the 2022-23 season, he appeared in 31 games, averaging 14.6 minutes, 2.9 points, and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Speaking to 247Sports after committing to Louisville, Anselem-Ibe praised Kelsey’s energy as a significant factor in his decision.

“He’s a very wired guy, he’s intense, but that’s the price you have to pay if you want to win,” Anselem-Ibe said of Kelsey. “You’re not going to lallygag; you have to be ready, locked in, and know what you’re doing to play for a guy like him. He’s won everywhere he has been, and we hope to do the same at Louisville.”

During his first season with the Bulldogs in 2022-23, Anselem-Ibe played in 31 games, starting six times, and averaged 2.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and a team-high 0.9 blocks per game over 14.6 minutes per contest.

Previously, Anselem played 32 games with six starts for Syracuse in the 2021-22 season, averaging 2.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 14.2 minutes per game, while shooting 62.5 percent from the field.
