Former WSU Small Forward Jaylen Wells Declares Intent to Stay in the NBA Draft

Former WSU wing Jaylen Wells has chosen to forgo his remaining college eligibility and stay in the NBA Draft.

In his one season at Pullman, Wells averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.

Wells started his career at the Division II level with Sonoma State University, where he averaged 22.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in his final season.

He transferred to WSU for the 2023-2024 season and made a memorable impact with a crucial four-point play against Arizona in Tucson, which helped the Cougars upset the Wildcats and achieve an AP poll ranking for the first time in 16 years.

Before deciding to stay in the Draft, Wells also entered the transfer portal, ending his time at Pullman after just one season.

Wells is projected to be a late second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, which will take place on June 27.
