Jemele Hill’s Viral Message on Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers Spurs Excitement

The Indiana Fever aren’t having the 2024 WNBA season many anticipated.

Following Tuesday’s 88-82 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks, Caitlin Clark and her teammates are now 1-7 for the season.

There’s plenty of blame to go around for these losses. Head coach Christie Sides has been criticized for poor decision-making, 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston appears to have regressed this season, and even Caitlin Clark is facing criticism for her ongoing turnover issues.

However, one sports commentator sees a potential upside if Indiana continues to struggle.

On Tuesday night, Jemele Hill responded to an X post highlighting Clark’s stats against the Sparks, saying, “She’s figuring it out — as most of us thought she would. I know the losing stinks, but I have to be honest, the idea of her, Aliyah Boston, and possibly Paige Bueckers on next year’s team … now we’re cooking with gas.”

The thought of UConn star Paige Bueckers joining Clark and Boston on the Fever is exciting.

However, the Washington Mystics remain winless in 2024, and the WNBA’s newest team, the Golden State Valkyries, will likely get next year’s top WNBA Draft pick.

Therefore, Hill’s suggested combination seems unlikely.
