Chris Klieman and the Kansas State football program have secured another notable transfer, with Jordan Dunbar, a 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back from Rice, committing to join the Wildcats. The news was confirmed by a source within the K-State football organization on Friday afternoon, following reports from both On3 and 247Sports. Dunbar opted for K-State over several other programs, including Marshall, Western Kentucky, Temple, East Carolina, UNLV, Georgia Southern, and others.
Having spent his entire collegiate football career at Rice, Dunbar brings experience and skill to the Wildcats’ roster. During his time with the Owls, he recorded 54 tackles and defended 17 passes across two seasons. His performance as an underclassman earned him honorable mention honors from Conference USA as a sophomore. However, he missed the entirety of last season due to a redshirt, and he now aims to revitalize his career in the Big 12 conference.
Joining Kansas State as a junior, Dunbar will have two remaining years of college eligibility. Expected to vie for playing time in the Wildcats’ secondary, he adds depth and valuable experience behind anticipated cornerback starters Keenan Garber and Jacob Parrish. His arrival signifies a bolstering of the defensive lineup for K-State, further enhancing their competitiveness in the upcoming season.
