Breaking News: Auburn football is closed the securing a commitment from four-star cornerback.
In October 2023, four-star cornerback Blake Woodby committed to Ohio State. However, according to his 247 Sports profile, he decommitted from the Buckeyes on May 16, 2024, and Auburn football extended an offer the same day.
During his commitment to Ohio State, Woodby remained open to other programs, maintaining communication with Auburn, Michigan, Florida, and more. After decommitting, he scheduled an official visit to Auburn, quickly becoming a high-priority target for the Tigers. His official visit is set for this weekend.
On3 Sports’ Vice President of Recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, has predicted Woodby will choose Auburn. Wiltfong noted, “I’ve talked to sources around Auburn today, and there is a lot of optimism going into the visit this weekend.” Similarly, two national recruiting analysts from 247 Sports logged Crystal Ball predictions this morning for Woodby to land at Auburn.
Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Woodby is ranked as the #2 prospect from his state and the #8 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class. Nationally, he is ranked #74 overall.
According to Auburn Wire, this weekend is crucial for head coach Hugh Freeze and Auburn football, as the program is hosting multiple recruits on official visits. Alongside Woodby, the Tigers will welcome five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, four-star offensive lineman Broderick Shull, four-star linebacker Elijah Menendez (Miami commit), four-star defensive lineman Kalen Edwards, and four-star tight end Emaree Winston (Texas commit).
