Breaking News: Lions Sign Second-Round Pick, Top Selection Remains unsigned

The Detroit Lions have officially signed cornerback Ennis Rakestraw, their second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, to a four-year contract. The deal is expected to be worth approximately $6.5 million, marking a significant step forward for the young defensive back as he begins his professional career.

Rakestraw, selected with the Lions’ 55th overall pick, played college football at the University of Missouri. Known for his versatility and physicality in coverage, Rakestraw is seen as a promising addition to the Lions’ defense as they continue to build under head coach Dan Campbell.

With Rakestraw’s signing, the Lions now have only their top selection from this year’s draft class left to sign: Terrion Arnold, the 24th overall pick. Arnold, a safety out of the University of Alabama, is expected to finalize his contract in the coming days as negotiations between his representatives and the Lions’ front office continue.
