Southern RB Shines at Showcase, Visits Michigan Today
Sound Mind Sound Body’s National College Showcase at Wayne State earlier this week provided prospects from across the country a chance to compete in front of numerous college coaching staffs.
One of the standout prospects was Jayreon Campbell, a running back from Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern High School. The 5-foot-10, 190-pounder has an impressive offer list nearing 20 schools, and his performance at the showcase demonstrated why.
“I have elite short area quickness to make people miss in the box and possess a skill set that I don’t think other running backs in my class have,” Campbell told The Michigan Insider. “I’m really an all-around back. I can catch out of the backfield and, like I said, make people miss. I’m a playmaker when the ball is in my hand. I believe that’s my biggest factor.”
Campbell’s versatility and playmaking ability were evident during the showcase, capturing the attention of several college coaches. His ability to make quick cuts, evade defenders, and catch passes out of the backfield sets him apart as a top-tier running back prospect.
