Aston Villa in Talks to Secure confirm Leeds Midfielder: International Star Set to Depart Club This Summer

HITC has learned that Juventus is considering selling American star Weston McKennie this summer, and Aston Villa has initiated discussions regarding his potential transfer.

Under Unai Emery’s guidance, Aston Villa’s qualification for the Champions League marked a significant achievement for the Midlands club, prompting them to conduct thorough assessments ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Reports suggest that Villa is confident in their ability to outmaneuver competition from other Premier League clubs and Antonio Conte’s Napoli in securing the signing of Atletico Madrid defender Mario Hermoso.

In Turin, Juventus is on the verge of appointing highly-regarded coach Thiago Motta, signaling a potential period of significant changes within the club. Contract negotiations for Federico Chiesa have hit an impasse, attracting interest from Liverpool and Newcastle United. Additionally, Adrien Rabiot is likely to depart Juventus with his contract expiring this summer.

Despite Weston McKennie’s successful season under former manager Max Allegri, Juventus is contemplating his departure. While McKennie struggled during his previous stint in the Premier League with Leeds United, his recent performances have caught the attention of several English clubs.

Aston Villa has expressed interest in McKennie, with discussions already initiated between the two clubs regarding a potential transfer. It’s worth noting that Aston Villa also discussed Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz with Juventus, although the Italian side showed limited enthusiasm for pursuing that deal further.

While Villa has engaged in talks with Douglas Luiz’s representatives regarding a contract extension, no agreement has been reached between the player and the club at this stage.
