Torino President Firm: Milan Target Off the Market, No Intention of Selling

Despite the exit talks, Torino president Urbano Cairo declared that he had “no intention” of selling captain Alessandro Buongiorno this summer.

Given that he is one of the most promising defenders for the national team and that he keeps proving he is one of the greatest center-backs in Serie A, Buongiorno is one of the most talked about players in the Italian media.

Since the January transfer window, when Milan needed immediate defense support, they have been linked to the 24-year-old. Now, with the summer transfer window approaching, those links have persisted. Cairo, the president of Torino, spoke with La Gazzetta dello Sport about the recently concluded season and potential future moves for some of their key players.

Rodriguez will also receive the armband because he left. He stated, “I want to keep him because I love him, and he has a contract until 2028” (via Radio Rossonera)

His value? I don’t know, I didn’t put him on the market and therefore he doesn’t have a price. He is coming off the back of a super season because, after he wanted to stay with us last summer, he was even more responsible.

He performed at an incredible level, giving no opportunity for an assailant. I don’t intend to sell him because I enjoy having him.

Numerous sources have also reported that Premier League teams Napoli and Inter are interested in Buongiorno.
