Auburn Tigers News: Wide Receiver Among Top-Rated Transfers in College Football, Auburn Faces Fifth-Toughest Schedule
In today’s edition of Auburn Tigers News, an Auburn wide receiver ranks among college football’s top transfer commits, and the Tigers will face the fifth-toughest schedule this fall.
The Auburn football team secured a solid group of transfers during the offseason, addressing several positions that needed additional talent, particularly along the offensive line and in the wide receiver room.
247 Sports’ Cody Nagel released his analysis of the top 15 transfer portal commits, excluding transfers still in the portal. The Tigers picked up one of college football’s top transfers during the spring window in former Penn State wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who was ranked No. 7.
“The 6-foot-1, 188-pound receiver had his most productive season with the Nittany Lions in 2023, hauling in a team-high 53 receptions for 673 yards and four touchdowns,” wrote Nagel. “He racked up more than 1,700 yards in 48 games played at Penn State.”
Alabama, Florida, and Miami picked up the most transfers included on Nagel’s list.
Tigers will face the fifth-toughest schedule this fall
As usual, the Auburn football team will face a challenging schedule this fall. Consistently ranked among the toughest schedules, the 2024 season will be no different.
With Oklahoma and Texas joining the conference and the East and West divisions eliminated, the landscape has shifted. Auburn’s schedule is ranked as the fifth most difficult this year according to ESPN’s FPI. Below is the top 10 list, per Auburn Undercover, which features only one non-SEC team in Georgia Tech at ninth place.
