Arkansas football made significant strides over the weekend, securing commitments from two high school standouts, bringing Sam Pittman‘s class of 2025 to a total of eight pledges.
Quentin Murphy from Parkview Magnet High School in Little Rock and Blake Cherry from Oklahoma announced their commitments to the Razorbacks on Saturday via social media. Murphy is notably the second in-state prospect to join Arkansas in this recruiting cycle.
Quentin Murphy, ATH
Murphy, ranked 448th nationally and 4th in Arkansas by the 247Sports Composite, had previously committed to Ole Miss and holds offers from powerhouse programs like Alabama and Georgia. Currently playing quarterback at Parkview Magnet, Murphy is expected to transition to a skill position in college. As a junior, he showcased his dual-threat ability, throwing for 892 yards and rushing for 697, with a total of 19 touchdowns. At 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Murphy combines speed with decent strength, although he will need to bulk up to excel as a wide receiver in the SEC. His commitment could also influence teammates Omarion Robinson and Cameron Settles, who both have offers from Arkansas.
Blake Cherry, OT
Cherry, the 840th-ranked player nationally and 60th-ranked offensive tackle, stands 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds. He chose Arkansas over offers from Big 12 schools like Kansas State and Oklahoma State. Cherry’s versatility on the offensive line could see him play either tackle or guard, providing valuable options for offensive line coach Eric Mateos. Known for his aggressive run blocking, Cherry adds a tenacious presence to the Razorbacks’ future line.
Arkansas Football’s 2025 Class
With Murphy and Cherry’s commitments, Arkansas’ 2025 class now ranks 40th nationally. The class is highlighted by quarterback Grayson Wilson and wide receiver Kamare Williams, though the Razorbacks are still seeking top-tier talent to elevate their standing. Currently, the class lacks four-star recruits and has just one player ranked within the top 30 at his position nationally. Offensive lineman Carius Curne, previously committed to Arkansas, remains a high-priority target along with safety Omarion Robinson.
Arkansas aims to bolster its recruiting efforts in the coming months to build a competitive roster for the future.
