Oilers Player Fined for Slashing Kulikov in Game 2 of Stanley Cup Final
Oilers forward Sam Carrick has been fined for slashing Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov late in Edmonton’s 4-1 loss to Florida in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final.
The NHL’s Department of Player Safety imposed a fine of $2,213.54 on Carrick, the maximum amount allowed under the collective bargaining agreement.
The incident occurred as the two players battled along the boards. With just over two minutes remaining in the third period, Carrick placed his stick between Kulikov’s legs and appeared to pull upwards.
On-ice officials penalized Carrick with a slashing minor and a 10-minute misconduct for the infraction.
