Homecoming Hero: Jordan Hulls Returns to Court for Assembly Ball in The Basketball Tournament!
Indiana basketball alum Jordan Hulls is set to make a triumphant return to the court this summer, representing IU’s alumni squad, Assembly Ball, in The Basketball Tournament. Hulls, a former standout for the Hoosiers, will take on a dual role as player and coach for the team, as revealed by Assembly Ball’s social media. This move comes as Hulls embarks on his third season as IU’s team and recruiting coordinator, having concluded a nine-year professional playing career overseas.
Joining a roster packed with former Hoosier talents such as Yogi Ferrell, Troy Williams, Devonte Green, Miller Kopp, and Juwan Morgan, Hulls marks the sixth IU player to commit to Assembly Ball’s TBT journey. Further additions to the squad will be unveiled in the coming days and weeks, with former IU star Christian Watford playing a pivotal role in assembling the roster.
Assembly Ball’s first-round TBT clash is scheduled for 8 p.m. EDT on Friday, July 19 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, with tickets currently available for purchase. Hulls, a Bloomington High School South product, is no stranger to Hoosier Nation, having made a significant impact during his four-year tenure at IU. A sharpshooting guard, he showcased his prowess with a remarkable 44.2 percent 3-point rate throughout his career, averaging 9.8 points per game.
During the 2012-13 season, Hulls played a pivotal role in guiding IU to its first outright Big Ten Championship in two decades. Despite falling short of a national title, his leadership and on-court skills left an indelible mark on the program. Following his illustrious college career, Hulls ventured abroad, competing professionally in various countries before returning to IU in a coaching capacity.
The Basketball Tournament, featuring 64 teams across eight regions, promises an exhilarating spectacle for basketball enthusiasts. With a plethora of nationally-televised games, including three on FOX, and the championship game slated for broadcast on the same network, TBT continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Since its inception in 2014, the event has revolutionized basketball entertainment, boasting over $13 million in prizes and introducing innovative game-ending procedures like the Elam Ending.
