Auburn Climbs Rankings for Versatile DL Javeon Campbell Following Official Visit

Official visit season is in full swing and the 2025 recruiting cycle is heating up as top high school football players nationwide announce their college decisions.

During the week of June 7-13, 23 players committed to SEC programs, including 22 prospects in the 2025 class and one underclassman. The group features six four-star prospects, headlined by a top-100 wide receiver.

Twelve SEC schools secured commitments this week, with South Carolina leading the way with four, followed by Alabama, Georgia, and Vanderbilt with three each, and Auburn and Missouri with two each. Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas each had one.

CLASS OF 2025—JUNE 7: BRODERICK SHULL | OT

Broderick Shull

Committed to: Auburn

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive tackle from Bixby (Okla.) High School, Broderick Shull committed to Auburn less than a week after an official visit, choosing the Tigers over Nebraska, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. His primary recruiter was Auburn offensive line coach Jake Thornton. Shull is the 13th commitment for head coach Hugh Freeze and Auburn in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

JUNE 7: GABE FIELDS | RB

Gabe Fields

Committed to: Vanderbilt

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-0, 200-pound running back from St. Joseph (Mo.) Central, Gabe Fields committed to Vanderbilt over offers from Baylor, Iowa State, and others. His recruitment was led by Vanderbilt run game coordinator and running backs coach Ghaali Muhammad-Lankford. Fields is the eighth member of Vanderbilt’s 2025 recruiting class. As a junior, he rushed for 1,396 yards and 21 touchdowns on 189 carries and caught 16 passes for 292 yards and two touchdowns, per MaxPreps.

JUNE 8: CHUCK MCDONALD | CB

Chuck McDonald

Committed to: Alabama

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-0 ½, 190-pound cornerback from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, Chuck McDonald committed to Alabama over Georgia, Oregon, and USC. Alabama co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist was the lead recruiter. McDonald is commit No. 12 for head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff in the 2025 recruiting cycle. As a junior, he recorded 34 tackles, one tackle for loss, seven pass breakups, and one interception return for a touchdown, per MaxPreps.

Abbreviated scouting report:** “McDonald continues to trend up and just keeps getting better and better every time we see him. He’s a ballhawk who’s looking to jump routes and make big plays defensively. He can read and react, does a really nice job getting out of his breaks, and closes really well on the football. He has the top-end speed to open and run with the faster receivers down the field and even plays some nickel to match up with smaller, shiftier wideouts.” — 247Sports national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins

JUNE 8: JAQUEL HOLMAN | ATH

Jaquel Holman

Committed to: South Carolina

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-1, 193-pound athlete from Blackville (S.C.) Blackville-Hilda, Jaquel Holman committed to South Carolina over offers from Pittsburgh, Liberty, and others. His decision came just over a week after receiving an in-state offer following an impressive showing at Beamer Camp. South Carolina defensive backs coach Torrian Gray was the lead recruiter. As a junior, Holman recorded 76 tackles, nine tackles for loss, one sack, five quarterback hurries, one interception, two pass breakups, and three forced fumbles on defense, while rushing for 1,610 yards and 26 touchdowns on offense, per MaxPreps.

JUNE 9: CHRISTIAN GARRETT | DL

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-3 ½, 285-pound defensive lineman from Bogart (Ga.) Prince Avenue Christian, Christian Garrett committed to Georgia following an official visit. He chose the Bulldogs over Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee. Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott was the lead recruiter. As a junior, Garrett recorded 86 tackles, nine tackles for loss, five sacks, 15 quarterback hurries, one interception, five pass breakups, and one forced fumble, per MaxPreps.

JUNE 9: DARRIN STREY | OT

Darrin Strey

Committed to: Kentucky

Recruiting background: A 6-foot-7, 300-pound offensive tackle from Paw Paw (Mich.) High School, Darrin Strey committed to Kentucky following an official visit. He chose Kentucky over Northwestern, Stanford, and Wisconsin. Kentucky offensive line coach Eric Wolford was the primary recruiter. As a junior, Strey recorded 64 tackles with 12 tackles for loss on defense.

Abbreviated scouting report:** “Massive prospect who engulfs defenders, especially his high school competition. Has worked diligently to improve foot speed and quickness. As a junior, that showed up when asked to pull and make blocks on the move. Needs to continue that progression with his quickness and overall flexibility. He chose the Rebels over Florida, Kentucky, Miami, Missouri, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and UCF. Ole Miss offensive line coach John Garrison was the lead recruiter. Hedrick is commit No. 10 for head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Recruiting background: A 5-foot-11, 195-pound athlete from Valdosta (Ga.) High School, Todd Robinson committed to Georgia following an official visit. He chose the Bulldogs over Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Michigan, and Tennessee. Georgia co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach Travaris Robinson was the primary recruiter. As a junior, Robinson completed 88 of 147 passes for 1,087 yards with nine touchdowns to seven interceptions while rushing for 1,001 yards and five touchdowns, and catching three passes for 42 yards and one score, per MaxPreps.
