New International Talent Joins Men’s Volleyball Team

The University of Hawai’i men’s volleyball program has secured a mid-year commitment with the addition of Louis Sakanoko for the upcoming 2024 season. Standing tall at 6-foot-5, Sakanoko, hailing from Paris, France, brings a wealth of experience, having represented France’s U22 National Team, which has qualified for the upcoming European Championship. With a solid background in the sport, Sakanoko has been an integral part of France’s national program for several years, contributing to his team’s qualification for the 2020 and 2022 European Championships. Furthermore, he has notable achievements at the U17 European championship in 2019 and has been a key player in U13 and U21 French championship-winning teams. Sakanoko is among nine new additions to the team in 2024, with six of them being freshmen. The season is set to kick off on January 3rd and 5th with a two-match series.
