Breaking News: Wisconsin Football Lands 4-Star 2025 Linebacker

The Wisconsin football program achieved a significant recruiting victory with the commitment of four-star linebacker Mason Posa.

Posa, ranked as the No. 268 player nationally, the No. 31 linebacker, and the top player in New Mexico according to composite rankings, made his official visit to Wisconsin in early June. He is now the fourth recruit from that weekend to commit to the Badgers, joining Logan Powell, Rukeem Stroud, and Nolan Davenport.

Posa was a highly sought-after prospect with 23 offers from notable schools, including Alabama, Oregon, USC, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, TCU, Utah, and Nebraska. Wisconsin prioritized Posa as their top target for the 2025 cycle, regardless of position. Despite having Oregon and Texas A&M in his top three, Posa chose Wisconsin before his planned visits to Eugene and College Station.

During his junior season at La Cueva High School, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker recorded 99 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and an interception.

Posa is now the fourth linebacker to commit to Wisconsin for the 2025 cycle, joining Brenden Anes, Cooper Catalano, and Samuel Lateju. He is expected to pair with Catalano on the inside, while Anes and Lateju will play on the outside.

With Posa’s verbal commitment, Wisconsin’s 2025 recruiting class now includes 18 commitments and ranks as the No. 13 class in the nation according to composite rankings.
