Police Breakthrough: Four Arrested in Fareham and Gosport as Crack Cocaine and Drugs Bust Unfolds

Police have provided updates on four individuals who were apprehended following the seizure of crack cocaine and other illicit substances. In March, officers conducted multiple operations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to combat drug trafficking. These efforts resulted in the closure of 15 county lines networks, 64 arrests, and the removal of over £30,000 worth of drugs from circulation.

Units in Gosport and Fareham made several arrests, with many suspects placed on police bail pending further investigation. Among them was a 21-year-old male detained on suspicion of involvement in the distribution of Class A drugs, following a stop and search on Forton Road, Gosport. He was found with a suspected cannabis bag and three mobile phones, initially bailed until June 6, now extended to September 6.

Similarly, a man in the Mill Road area of Fareham was found with four wraps of heroin and one of cocaine. Arrested for possession of Class A drugs, he was bailed until June 4, with the bail extended to August 2.

During a vehicle search on the A27 in Fareham, police discovered 12g of cocaine, 6g of crack cocaine, £2,160 in cash, and a mobile phone, leading to the detention of a 34-year-old male on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. He was released without further action.

Additionally, a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class C drugs with intent to supply after being found with pills and a mobile phone in Nyria Way. Although released from bail, he remains under investigation.

Chief Inspector Chris Spellerberg, District Commander for Fareham and Gosport, emphasized the detrimental impact of county lines drug activity on communities, stressing their commitment to combating drug supply and the associated exploitation and violence.
