St. Louis CITY SC has brought midfielder John Klein, forward Brendan McSorley, homegrown talent Tyson Pearce, and defender Michael Wentzel on board through a short-term loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, St. Louis CITY2. These players will be eligible for Wednesday’s MLS match against the Colorado Rapids at 7:30 p.m. CT at CITYPARK.

Klein recently made his third MLS appearance for CITY SC last Saturday against FC Dallas and has one more appearance remaining this season. Wentzel, who featured in a Concacaf Champions Cup match against Houston, is making his second official call-up of the season after being on the gameday roster against New York City FC earlier. McSorley has earned his first call-up this season.

Klein, aged 24 and a native of Columbia, Missouri, has been in fine form at CITY2 with four goals and two assists in 12 matches this season, adding to his impressive tally of 17 goals and six assists in 41 appearances over the past year-and-a-half.

Wentzel, aged 22, has been a key figure for CITY2 with a record of 9-2-2, contributing to five clean sheets and starting in 10 out of 14 matches, serving as captain.

McSorley, drafted in the third round of the MLS SuperDraft, has started 12 matches for CITY2, scoring two goals. In college, he played for Providence College, amassing 23 goals and five assists over four seasons, with a standout senior year where he recorded 11 goals and one assist in 17 matches.

Pearce, aged 16 and part of the CITY SC homegrown contingent, has featured in 11 out of 14 matches for CITY2 this season, starting in seven.

According to MLS regulations, the short-term agreement permits clubs to enlist players on loan from their MLS NEXT Pro affiliate for various matches including MLS, U.S. Open Cup, Concacaf Champions League, Canadian Championship, and exhibition games.

**Transaction**: St. Louis CITY SC has secured midfielder John Klein, forward Brendan McSorley, homegrown player Tyson Pearce, and defender Michael Wentzel on a short-term loan from their MLS NEXT Pro team, St. Louis CITY2.
