Tennessee Vols Infielder Star Player Set to Join Boston Red Sox as 12th Pick in 2024 MLB Draft

Tennessee Vols infielder Christian Moore has consistently been projected in the range of No. 18 to No. 26 in various MLB mock drafts this spring and summer.

Moore’s impressive performance in 2024 has virtually assured the Brooklyn native of being selected in the first round of next month’s MLB draft. ESPN’s latest mock draft suggests he could be picked even higher than previously expected.

According to ESPN’s mock draft, Moore is now projected to be chosen by the Boston Red Sox with the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. Known for his athleticism and strong hitting ability, Moore’s batting skills are his standout trait and a key reason for his anticipated first-round selection.

Defensively, Moore is considered average, capable of making spectacular plays but occasionally struggling with routine ones. His arm strength limits his suitability for shortstop or third base at the professional level, making second base, left field, or center field more probable positions.

Despite defensive considerations, Moore’s consistent display of elite hitting throughout the 2024 season is likely to secure his place in at least the middle of the first round of the upcoming MLB Draft.
