Geelong midfielder Tanner Bruhn has signed a two-year extension with the Geelong Football Club, ensuring his presence at GMHBA Stadium until at least the end of 2027.

At just 22 years old, Bruhn has quickly established himself as a key player for the Cats since joining the team during the 2022 trade period from the Greater Western Sydney Giants. He has played in 29 of a possible 36 games since his arrival, demonstrating his importance to the squad.

Cats general manager of football Andrew Mackie praised Bruhn’s dedication and hard work, expressing the club’s enthusiasm for his extended stay. “We are thrilled for Tanner to extend for a further two seasons with us and have him committed to the club until at least the end of 2027,” Mackie said. “Tanner has a bright future, and we are excited to see him grow alongside our group of emerging young players.”

Originally from Geelong, Bruhn honed his skills playing junior football for Newtown & Chilwell before being drafted to GWS with the 12th selection of the AFL draft.

In the 2024 season, Bruhn has achieved career-high statistics, averaging 18.5 disposals, 4.6 tackles, 5.5 clearances, and 4.1 score involvements per game. His performance underscores his significant role within the team and his potential for further development.

With this extension, Geelong secures a promising young talent who continues to show remarkable progress and commitment to the club’s future success.
