Bills Deliver Major Update on Josh Allen After Injury in Cardinals Clash
With a short week ahead and a divisional showdown on the horizon, the Buffalo Bills have received promising news about Josh Allen’s injury.
On September 9, Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that Allen will be ready to play in the team’s Thursday Night Football game against the Miami Dolphins. Reporter Joe Buscaglia shared on X that Allen has been cleared to practice on Monday and participate in the upcoming game.

Allen sustained an injury to his left, non-throwing hand during a touchdown run in the fourth quarter of the Bills’ 34-28 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. After attempting a leap over Cardinals safety Budda Baker and landing heavily on his hand, Allen seemed to be in pain but managed to finish the game with his hand taped.
Despite the injury and the need for post-game X-rays, Allen reassured reporters that he wasn’t overly concerned. He acknowledged the risks of his aerial maneuver over a formidable defender like Baker and recognized the need to limit such high-risk plays moving forward.
Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins expressed both admiration and concern over Allen’s daring play, noting his quarterback’s tendency to push boundaries.
Allen had a standout performance in the win, overcoming an early fumble to complete 18 of 23 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 39 yards and two more scores.
As the Bills prepare for their Week 2 clash with the Dolphins,Josh Allen has already been focused on the matchup. Last season, the Bills narrowly secured the division title with a crucial victory over the Dolphins in Miami, setting the stage for another intense encounter.
