St. Louis Battlehawks see departure of two key offensive players

St. Louis Battlehawks Players Head to NFL Following Strong UFL Season After an impressive season in the 2024 UFL campaign, the St. Louis Battlehawks are seeing two of their star players move on to the NFL.

Just a day after the UFL Championship game concluded, offensive tackle Jaryd Jones-Smith and running back Jacob Saylors have secured contracts with NFL teams.

According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, Jones-Smith is set to join the Atlanta Falcons, while Saylors will be heading to New York to play for the Giants. Both players had their UFL contracts terminated on Monday to facilitate their transitions to the NFL.

Jones-Smith, recognized for his stellar performance as one of the top left tackles in the UFL, was recently named to the All-UFL team. His consistency on the Battlehawks’ offensive line earned him similar accolades in the XFL last season. With previous NFL experience from stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and Baltimore Ravens, Jones-Smith brings seasoned skill to his new role.

Meanwhile, Saylors distinguished himself as a standout rusher in the UFL, ranking second in both rushing yards (461) and rushing touchdowns (five). His impactful contributions included a preseason stint with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he showcased his versatility and potential at the NFL level.

This transition marks another successful offseason for the Battlehawks, who have now seen a total of eight players signed by NFL teams since last year. As they prepare for the upcoming season, the Battlehawks have released six UFL players from their contracts, paving the way for their aspirations in the NFL.
