Top 2025 Linebacker Commits to Kansas State

Kansas State’s biggest competition for Maguire Richman seemed to be Iowa, especially with a visit planned to Iowa City this weekend. However, after an official visit to Manhattan last weekend, the 2025 linebacker decided to commit to Chris Klieman and the Wildcats instead of joining his brother Mason Richman at the Hawkeyes.

“The history of developing players, recruiting and playing Kansas players, and also coaching stability is exciting along with the proximity,” Richman told 247Sports’ Allen Trieu about his interest in K-State in March.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds, Richman, from Blue Valley High School, follows in the footsteps of former Tiger alumni like Beau Palmer, Sterling Lockett, Andre Davis, and John Price to strengthen K-State’s ties to one of the EKL’s prominent programs. According to head coach Allen Terrell, Richman might be his favorite all-around player, praised for his versatility and accomplishments on the field.

Richman, described by GPC as “one of the more lethal, local tacklers in his class,” consistently excels on both sides of the football.

“The toughness and tenacity seen in his collegiate brother clearly run down the family tree to Maguire,” GPC wrote after multiple in-person observations last fall. “Similar in style to Austin Moore, this 6-foot-2, 200 pounder will have his junior film heavily scrutinized, with potential for an uptick this winter. K-State has already hosted the junior several times since April, including the SEMO game.”

Richman finished his junior season with 132 tackles (96 solo), 11 tackles for loss, six quarterback hurries, three forced fumbles, two blocked kicks, one interception, and a sack. His performance helped his team reach the 6A semi-finals before falling to Gardner Edgerton. Richman also excelled on offense as a blocking tight end and kicking specialist, even being named a Simone Award Finalist, typically reserved for offensive skill positions. He demonstrated his versatility by kicking a 50-yard field goal for the Tigers last season.

Though he previously visited Memphis and considered Tulsa this summer, the three-star recruit found a strong connection with Kansas State, the only Power Five program that showed interest through his injury-plagued camp tour last offseason. Kansas State’s offer in March ultimately secured his commitment.
