Highly Rated Quarterback Commits to Texas for 2026

Steve Sarkisian, the head coach of Texas football, has a reputation for recruiting top-tier quarterbacks. Over the past five years, he has been instrumental in the recruitment of notable quarterbacks such as Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning.

Most recently, Sarkisian secured a commitment from Dia Bell, a highly regarded four-star recruit from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who announced his decision to join Texas.

Bell, ranked as the second-best quarterback and the 10th overall prospect in the 2026 class, has received 37 other offers but ultimately chose Texas for his collegiate career.

Bell’s football journey began early, playing varsity games as early as eighth grade and making significant contributions in subsequent seasons. His sophomore year at American Heritage High School further bolstered his recruitment profile, showcasing his prowess with 20 passing touchdowns, 1,929 yards passing, and minimal interceptions.

Beyond football, Bell inherits athleticism from his father, Raja Bell, a former NBA shooting guard. Dia Bell also excels in basketball, averaging impressive stats during his freshman season in high school.

Joining Texas marks Dia Bell as the latest addition to Sarkisian’s impressive track record of recruiting talented quarterbacks. Sarkisian’s reputation in quarterback development extends back to his tenure at Alabama, where he initially recruited Bryce Young and later played a role in the recruitments of other standout quarterbacks.

Recruiting players like Bell underscores Texas’s commitment to maintaining a competitive and talented roster, particularly in the quarterback position, as they prepare for the upcoming 2024 season.

“Thank you to everyone who offered me opportunities to pursue my dreams at your school,” Bell expressed in a post, accompanied by a photo of himself in Texas attire. “I am grateful for the relationships we’ve built.
