LSU Lands Two Top Defensive Line Commits from Friday Night Lights Camp

The LSU Tigers are already seeing the fruits of their labor from the Friday Night Lights camp, securing commitments from two promising defensive line prospects, one each for the 2025 and 2026 classes.

On Saturday, LSU landed a pledge from Jesse Harrold, a four-star edge rusher from the Tampa area, marking the Tigers’ first defensive line commit for the 2025 class. Harrold, listed at 6’5” and 207 pounds, is ranked as the No. 66 overall prospect by On3 and is a top-10 player at his position. He chose LSU over several other top programs, including Florida, Miami, Auburn, and Texas A&M. This commitment also represents a significant first recruiting win for new EDGE coach Kevin Peoples.

Harrold’s commitment follows another significant addition to LSU’s 2025 class earlier in the week, with the Tigers securing Carius Curne, the nation’s top interior offensive lineman, on Thursday. These two commitments have bolstered LSU’s 2025 recruiting class to the No. 2 spot nationally, closing the gap on No. 1 Ohio State.

Looking ahead, LSU has also begun to make strides in its 2026 recruiting class by securing a commitment from four-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson. Anderson, who attended the Tigers’ Friday Night Lights camp, becomes the first commit for LSU’s 2026 class. The New Orleans native from Edna Karr High School selected LSU over offers from Oregon, USC, Ole Miss, and Florida State.

Anderson is teammates with current LSU commit TaRon Francis and several other LSU targets, including Corey Adams, a three-star 2025 defensive line prospect, and Aiden Hall, a four-star safety in the 2026 class. Currently, Anderson is ranked as the No. 131 overall prospect in the class of 2026 and the No. 7 player in Louisiana, a state loaded with talent for that class.

Louisiana’s 2026 class features four players in the top 50 nationally, including St. Augustine’s Jahkeem Stewart (No. 3 overall), U-High’s Lamar Brown (No. 5), and Catholic’s Blaine Bradford (No. 15). With such promising talent on the horizon, LSU’s recruiting momentum shows no signs of slowing down
