Top Four-Star Running Back Reverses Commitment Days After Vowing Stability

Alvin Henderson, recognized as one of the top 10 running backs in the college football recruiting Class of 2025, recently changed his commitment from Penn State to Auburn, illustrating the unpredictable nature of modern recruiting.

Henderson, a native of Alabama, received 44 scholarship offers from across the country, including prominent schools like Alabama, Texas, Miami, and others. Initially committing to Penn State under James Franklin on April 11, Henderson’s interest shifted towards Auburn after a visit in May to The Plains.

Despite reaffirming his commitment to Penn State on June 16, speculation about a change grew, culminating in Henderson officially flipping to Auburn on Friday.

His decision underscores a trend in today’s recruiting environment where commitments are made amid ongoing exploration of other options, often resulting in unexpected changes like Henderson’s.
