USC Trojans Suffer Setback as Five-Star Recruit Star Player Decommits

Less than 24 hours after five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson announced his decommitment from USC, another blow hit the Trojans as five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry also decided to decommit.

Terry, a 6-foot-4.5, 275-pound prospect, ranks as the second-best defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class, trailing only Elijah Griffin, another top recruit from Georgia who is also considering USC.

While Terry’s decision isn’t entirely unexpected, it is disappointing for USC, dropping them from the 3rd overall recruiting class to 11th in the rankings.

Despite this setback, USC remains focused on recruiting efforts with several months until signing day in December. The landscape can shift rapidly, as evidenced by recent developments, especially with upcoming recruiting weekends.

While the loss of Terry is a setback, USC’s coaching staff led by Coach Riley, Coach Lynn, and Coach Henderson will continue to pursue top talent committed to the Trojans. The next six months promise to be dynamic as USC aims to strengthen its roster with players who are dedicated to the program’s success.
