Auburn Scores Big with Former Alabama Defensive Back Star Player Transfer from Colorado

Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers have been active in the transfer portal late in the cycle, culminating in the signing of Jahquez Robinson from Colorado, a former Alabama defensive back.

Robinson, originally from Jacksonville, spent the 2023 season at Colorado after starting his career at Alabama as a 3-star recruit in 2020, ranked as the 33rd-best cornerback.

Initially a reserve at Alabama, Robinson transferred to Colorado to follow his position coach, Charles Kelly. Kelly, who joined Auburn as co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach in January, has been a consistent figure in Robinson’s college career.

During his 2023 season at Colorado, Robinson appeared in four games, recording eight tackles and an interception. Although listed by Auburn as a safety, Robinson considers himself a versatile defensive back with experience at corner, nickel, and safety positions.

Robinson joins Auburn’s roster alongside other transfer defensive backs like Antonio Kite from Alabama and Jerrin Thompson from Texas. With two years of eligibility left, Robinson brings depth and experience to Auburn’s defensive lineup.
