Andrei Iosivas is set to have an outstanding season.

The Cincinnati Bengals typically favor selecting players from major programs like Clemson, Alabama, and LSU, but the future of their wide receiver position might hinge on a standout from Princeton.

Andrei Iosivas
Height: 6-3
Weight: 212 lbs.
Age: 24

Experience:1 year Cap Status
Iosivas is in the second year of his rookie contract, earning just under one million dollars this season. His total contract value is $3,999,384, extending through 2027, according to Spotrac.

Background
The Bengals’ interest in Iosivas was widely known during the 2023 draft season. He was invited for a top 30 visit, and wide receivers coach Troy Walters visited him at Princeton before the Bengals selected him in the 6th round. Besides his football prowess, Iosivas was an All-American heptathlete at Princeton.

Although initially considered a “project” due to his multi-sport background and level of play, Iosivas quickly impressed the Bengals’ coaching staff. Despite a crowded wide receiver room, he managed to see action in his rookie season, making one start and recording 15 receptions for 116 yards and four touchdowns.

During OTAs, Walters praised Iosivas’ offseason efforts, noting his increased strength and speed.

Outlook for 2024
The Bengals have drafted three wide receivers over the past two seasons, signaling impending changes. Tyler Boyd has joined Brian Callahan in Tennessee, and Tee Higgins is on the franchise tag, unlikely to return in 2025.

Iosivas, an X receiver who excels against press coverage, is a natural replacement for Higgins. This will enable the team to move Ja’Marr Chase and Jermaine Burton between the slot and Z receiver positions.

Iosivas is expected to have a more active role in 2024. If Higgins misses any time, Iosivas will step into the starting lineup. He will also be a key substitute, allowing Chase to move inside for better matchups.

Predicted stats for Iosivas this year are around 35 receptions (+/- 5), 400-500 yards, and 4+ touchdowns. In 2025, with Higgins likely leaving, Iosivas is anticipated to become a starting receiver alongside Chase and Burton, thriving in this role.
