Breaking News: Tigers Suffer Another Devastating Setback

Richmond forward Tom Lynch’s return was short-lived, lasting only one game. The club has confirmed he suffered another hamstring injury that will keep him out until round 18.

Lynch made his comeback in teammate Dustin Martin’s 300th game against Hawthorn at the MCG 10 days ago, even assisting in chairing Martin off the ground. However, he left the match earlier than anticipated due to general soreness, which later revealed a minor strain in his right hamstring following scans.

Despite a lengthy absence leading up to the Hawthorn game due to a previous right hamstring issue that sidelined him until round 14, Lynch is set to miss another two weeks. This setback is a significant blow for Richmond, who have struggled this season with only two wins.

Richmond football boss Tim Livingston expressed disappointment over Lynch’s setback but emphasized the importance of his recovery. Lynch is expected to resume training with the rehab group and aims to return for the round 18 clash against GWS.

The Tigers currently face a challenging season with one of the AFL’s longest injury lists, including 15 sidelined players, five of whom are out for the remainder of the season.
