Milwaukee Bucks Lands Key Player Headed to Sacramento Kings in Unexpected Trade
Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez could be on the move ahead of the 2024-2025 season as he approaches free agency.
At 36 years old, Lopez finds himself potentially expendable as the Bucks aim to strengthen their roster under General Manager Jon Horst’s leadership. Alongside Lopez, other key players from last year’s lineup such as Bobby Portis, Pat Connaughton, and Khris Middleton could also be subject to trade talks this offseason.
Already a subject of numerous trade discussions, Lopez appears likely to switch teams soon. Forbes.com writer Brian Sampson has proposed multiple trade scenarios involving Lopez, one notably pairing him and young prospect Chris Livingston with the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Harrison Barnes and Davion Mitchell.
Regarding this potential trade, Sampson noted, “This move would signal the Bucks’ commitment to a small-ball strategy, pivoting as Antetokounmpo assumes a full-time center role. It’s a challenging position, yet offers considerable upside.”
During the previous season, Lopez averaged 12.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 2.4 blocks, and 0.5 steals across 79 games, showcasing his consistent contributions. Livingston, at just 20 years old, played sparingly with averages of 1.2 points, 1.0 rebound, 0.2 assists, and 0.1 steals in 21 games, making his inclusion in any deal particularly intriguing for Milwaukee.
