Urban Meyer Declares Major College Football Program Boasts Most Talented Roster of the Decade
Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, renowned for leading the Buckeyes to a national championship in 2014, expressed optimism about Ohio State’s potential in the upcoming 2024 season. In an interview with Adam King, Meyer highlighted the extraordinary talent now filling the Buckeyes’ locker room following a stellar transfer class recruitment.
“I believe this could be one of the most talented rosters in the last decade, perhaps even in the history of the program,” Meyer remarked. “They still need to prove themselves on the field, but the caliber of athletes across every position is unprecedented.
Ohio State’s impressive transfer additions include standout names like Alabama’s safety Caleb Downs and Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins. Additionally, former Kansas State quarterback Will Howard joins after an impressive collegiate career, amassing over 5,500 passing yards and 48 touchdowns.
Heading into the season, the Buckeyes also boast returning key players such as defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau and running back Tre’Veyon Henderson. Despite finishing last season 11-2, Ohio State faced disappointment with a loss to Missouri in the Cotton Bowl.
Ohio State’s 2024 campaign begins on August 31 against Akron in Columbus, with aspirations to capture their first national championship since Meyer’s title-winning season in 2014.
