Eagles’ $42 Million Star on the Brink as Trade Rumors Swirl as Deadline Looms.

The Philadelphia Eagles will be a team to keep an eye on in the coming weeks.

With the 2024 NFL trade deadline approaching on November 5, the Eagles could be active in the market. Currently sitting at 2-2 ahead of their Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns—a game many view as winnable—the Eagles have dropped two of their last three games.

If the team can regain momentum, especially with key players like A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Lane Johnson expected to return, they might consider adding to their roster. On the other hand, continued struggles could lead to some roster changes.

CBS Sports’ Cody Benjamin highlighted seven potential big-name players who could be traded before the deadline, including Philadelphia’s six-time Pro Bowl cornerback, Darius Slay. Benjamin noted that while it’s unlikely the Eagles would part with Slay, general manager Howie Roseman is known for making bold moves. Roseman had already been open to trading Slay prior to the 2023 season, and with promising young players like Quinyon Mitchell, Kelee Ringo, and Cooper DeJean on the roster, there may be motivation to make a change.

There’s been considerable buzz around Slay, and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he could be moved. If the Eagles can string together some wins, they might hold onto him until the offseason. But if their struggles continue, a trade could be on the horizon.
