Oklahoma State Scores Big: Lands Commitment from Four-Star Edge Rusher

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s recruiting efforts have been red-hot this summer, and they’ve just turned up the heat even more.

On Thursday, the Cowboys secured their highest-rated defensive commitment for the 2025 class as Michael Riles announced his decision to join OSU in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Riles, a four-star defensive lineman from Port Arthur, Texas, is renowned for his edge-rushing abilities. He ranks as the No. 293 player in the 2025 class according to ESPN and No. 335 by 247Sports. He holds the 29th spot among defensive linemen nationally and is the 38th-ranked prospect in Texas.

Riles’ recruitment gained momentum last summer, ultimately leading him to choose Oklahoma State over Texas A&M, Texas, Florida, TCU, Nebraska, and other programs. OSU extended an offer to the 6-5, 235-pound lineman in September 2023, followed by his official visit this April.

According to 247Sports’ McClain Baxley, the relationship with defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo and defensive line coach Paul Randolph played a pivotal role in Riles’ decision.

Nardo’s recruiting prowess has already secured commitments from four defensive players in June alone. Riles joins Midway linebacker Donovan Jones, McKinney defensive lineman Jordan Covington, and Lake Highlands safety Ayden Webb.

With Riles on board, Oklahoma State’s 2025 recruiting class jumps to No. 23 nationally and ranks third in the Big 12 according to 247Sports, trailing only TCU and Arizona State. Mike Gundy, aiming for his first top-25 class in a decade, and his staff are well on track to achieve that goal.
