Ole Miss Edge Rusher Princely Umanmielen Ranked Among Top Defenders for 2024

Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin and his staff excelled this offseason, securing the top transfer portal class. A standout addition was Florida transfer edge rusher Princely Umanmielen.

Umanmielen, like many recent Ole Miss transfers, was highly sought after, with every SEC program vying for the former Gators star. The Rebels ultimately won out.

During his four years at Florida, Umanmielen recorded 98 tackles (48 solo), three forced fumbles, and 15 sacks. His production improved each season, with 11.5 sacks over the last two years, including a career-best seven sacks.

Standing 6-foot-5, Umanmielen is ranked as Pro Football Focus’ No. 10 edge rusher for 2024. The hope is he will be more than just a rotational pass-rusher alongside J.J. Pegues and Jared Ivey under Pete Golding.

The Rebels’ 2024 season kicks off at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium against FCS Furman on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.
