TCU Football Recruiting Surges with New Wave of Commitments

TCU coach Sonny Dykes is seeing his fourth recruiting class shaping up as his strongest yet. The Horned Frogs are positioned just outside the top-10 in the recruiting rankings following another productive recruiting weekend where TCU secured two new commitments for its 2025 class. On Saturday, TCU landed Dane Jones, a speedy three-star wide receiver from Missouri City, Texas. Standing at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, Jones is ranked among the top-500 prospects nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings.

He is also rated as the No. 75 wide receiver prospect and the No. 75 overall prospect in Texas. Jones had received offers from several notable programs including Boston College, Florida, and SMU.

Last season at Ridge Point High, Jones was the second-leading receiver with 825 yards, 50 receptions, and 13 touchdowns. Previously at Shadow Creek in Pearland, Jones had 34 receptions for 488 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore, displaying his athleticism in track and field with impressive 200-meter times.

On the same day, TCU also secured a commitment from Joseph Albright, a three-star safety ranked as the No. 72 at his position nationally and No. 130 in Texas. Albright, standing at 5-10 and 160 pounds, is noted for his physicality and closing speed.

During his junior season, Albright recorded 82 tackles, one interception, and contributed in the return game for Westfield High, which finished with an 11-3 record. Albright had attracted interest from schools such as Houston, Arizona State, and Arkansas before choosing TCU.

TCU’s recruiting efforts have focused on the Houston metro area, securing commitments from five players in their 18-member class so far. The Horned Frogs maintain their position as the top recruiting class in the Big 12 and are ranked No. 13 nationally, ahead of notable programs like Tennessee and USC.
