Texas secures commitment from 2026 four-star wide receiver Chris Stewart

Amidst the buzz surrounding Texas Longhorns’ recent baseball coaching hire, the football coaching staff remains focused on recruiting. Following the conclusion of the summer official visit season, efforts are already underway for the 2026 recruiting class.

Last week, the Longhorns secured a commitment from five-star quarterback Dia Bell, setting the tone for their class.

On Tuesday evening, four-star wide receiver Chris Stewart from Pearland Shadow Creek announced his commitment to Texas, becoming the second member of the 2026 class alongside Bell.

Stewart’s commitment marks the beginning of discussions for the 2026 class’s skill positions, following the recent departure of Aledo running back Raycine Guillory. Stewart had a standout sophomore season at Shadow Creek, recording 35 receptions for 654 yards and 10 touchdowns.

He is currently ranked as the 33rd-best wide receiver prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports and holds the 201st spot nationally in composite rankings.
