BREAKING NEWS: USC Star Inks $212M Deal, Bolsters Atlanta’s Championship Roster

USC point guard Isaiah Collier was chosen by the Utah Jazz as the 29th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. This year’s draft spans two nights, with the second round scheduled for tomorrow at ESPN’s Seaport District Studios in Manhattan.

Collier’s selection marks USC’s fourth first-round pick in the last five NBA Drafts and continues a trend of Trojans making waves in professional basketball.

During his freshman season with USC, Collier made significant contributions, starting in 26 out of 27 games and averaging 16.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. He led the Trojans with 115 assists and ranked among the top 10 scorers in the Pac-12 conference.

Collier’s achievements earned him a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman team and honorable mention All-Conference recognition.

The Atlanta native stood out as one of only three NCAA Division I players to maintain averages of at least 16.0 points, 4.0 assists, 40 steals, and shoot above 49.0% from the field. His consistent performance included scoring in double figures in 25 games and distributing five or more assists in 12 outings, with a season-best nine assists against Colorado on February 17.

Collier’s impact on USC’s basketball program is underscored by his ranking in the school’s freshman records, including third in free throw attempts (156) and fifth in free throws made (105).

His selection by the Utah Jazz adds to USC’s legacy in the NBA Draft, joining recent first-rounders like Evan Mobley, Onyeka Okongwu, and Kevin Porter Jr., highlighting the Trojans’ prominence in developing top-tier talent for the professional league.
