BREAKING NEWS: Bulls Boost Local Talent Pool with Top Prospect Signing on Exhibit 10 Contract

Following the 2024 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls have bolstered their roster depth by signing former Illinois standout Marcus Domask to an Exhibit 10 contract. Domask, known for his impressive contributions during his sole season with the Fighting Illini, arrives with a resume that includes averaging 15.9 points, five rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game.

His efforts alongside Terrence Shannon Jr. propelled Illinois to an Elite Eight appearance before falling to eventual national champions, the UConn Huskies.

The Exhibit 10 deal offers Domask an opportunity to vie for a spot with the Bulls, who were without a second-round draft pick this year. This contract type is a customary strategy employed by NBA teams to secure additional depth. Under an Exhibit 10 deal, a player can potentially transition to a two-way contract, providing flexibility for both the player and the team.

According to Sports Business Classroom, an Exhibit 10 contract permits a player to earn a bonus of up to $50,000 if they join the team’s G League affiliate after being waived and clearing waivers. If the player remains with the G League squad for at least 60 days, they receive the bonus, offering financial incentives beyond roster opportunities.

For Chicago, signing Domask not only enhances their training camp competition but also resonates with local fans who followed his collegiate career closely.

Should Domask not secure a spot on the Bulls’ final roster, he could potentially join their G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls, maintaining a presence in the city he’s become familiar with during his time at Illinois.

As the NBA offseason progresses, Domask’s journey from Illinois standout to Bulls prospect underscores the team’s commitment to talent development and strategic roster construction heading into the upcoming season.
